Please join us in congratulating our former client, Blake Haxton, on earning a silver medal in the 2021 Tokyo Paralympic Games. Blake fell behind early in the race, but stormed back in the last 50 meters to take silver, ultimately finishing just two seconds behind the gold medal winner. You can watch his silver medal winning race here.
Blake was a standout athlete at Upper Arlington High School with interest from several prominent national rowing programs until he contracted necrotizing fasciitis, a rare bacterial infection also known as “flesh eating disease”. Unfortunately, the infection spread across both of his legs, causing extensive damage and his legs needed to be amputated. LV successfully represented Blake in a lawsuit alleging that his medical providers failed to timely diagnose and aggressively treat his infection, and that was the reason he lost his legs. Blake has since completed undergrad and law school at The Ohio State University, all while continuing to compete at an elite level. We continue to wish Blake the best in all of his athletic, professional, and personal endeavors.
